You’re probably reading this because you want to know how to get more water pressure in your home. Well, Lebanon Plumbing & Drain is here to help! You can do a few things to increase the water pressure in your house or business.

Do You Have City Water or a Well?

If you have a city water system, your pressure is controlled by the city, which means that your home’s water system will be under pressure. However, if you have a well system, then the pressure of your water will depend on how strong your pump is.  If you’re not sure which type of system you have and want to know more about them before deciding how to increase the amount of pressure in your house, read on!

What Is the Flow Rate From Your Well?

If you have a well system, it may not be able to provide the appropriate flow of water for the home. For example, if you are using a well system and your pressure is low, it could be due to an insufficient flow rate. This means more water must move through your pipes to work correctly. So, what’s the problem? Well, some residential wells and pipes are not designed to handle this type of pressure. They are built with less capacity than city water systems. You can inspect your well pump to make sure it’s operating at peak performance, or you can look up how deep your well is. You may need to dig deeper.

Can You Add a Pump to the City Water Supply?

If you find that your house’s water pressure is low, you can contact the city or county water department and ask them for help. They can check the flow rate of your home’s main line and determine if it is sufficient. If not, a pump may be required as well as an increase in flow rate by removing some of the water from storage tanks.

What Are Your Plumbing Pipes Made Of?

In many older homes, the plumbing is galvanized steel, which could be corroded internally. Galvanized steel pipes can be replaced, cleaned, and repaired if necessary.

Can a Plumber Increase Your Water Pressure?

You may want to contact a plumber and have them investigate your water pressure. Lebanon Plumbing & Drain will come out and make a diagnosis to help you get the right solution for your home.
